Toasted Ravioli
Ingredients:
24 – 36 frozen beef ravioli
3 large eggs
1/4 cup buttermilk
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups Italian breadcrumbs
1/4 teaspoon granulated garlic
Canola oil or vegetable oil for frying
Parmesan cheese, for garnish
Instructions:
Prep Dipping Stations: In a small bowl, whisk together the eggs and buttermilk. Place the flour on a separate shallow plate. Combine the breadcrumbs and granulated garlic on another shallow plate. Line these up in order of use: egg mixture, flour, breadcrumbs, and then an empty plate for the coated ravioli.
Coat the Ravioli: Dip each frozen ravioli first in the egg mixture, then dredge in flour, dip again in the egg mixture, and finally coat thoroughly in the breadcrumb mixture. Set coated ravioli on the empty plate.
Fry the Ravioli: Heat the oil in a deep fryer or a large frying pan to 375°F (190°C). Fry the ravioli in batches, about five at a time, for 3-4 minutes or until they are golden brown and crisp. Turn them halfway through frying.
Drain and Serve: Remove the ravioli from the oil and drain on paper towels. While they are still hot, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
Serving Suggestion: Serve the toasted ravioli warm with a side of marinara sauce for dipping.
