Dive into these irresistible Caramelitas, featuring layers of oats, chocolate, caramel, and nuts. They are the perfect blend of crunchy, gooey, and utterly delicious!
Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup quick-cooking oats
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup butter, melted
1 cup (6 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 jar (12 1/4 oz.) caramel ice cream topping
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Directions:
Preheat Oven & Prepare Pan: Set your oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13x2-inch baking pan and set aside.
Mix Base Layer: In a bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, salt, and melted butter. Mix well. Press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan.
Bake Base: Place in the oven and bake for 10 minutes, or until the base is set. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with chocolate chips.
Add Caramel & Nuts: In a small bowl, mix the caramel topping with 1 tablespoon of flour until smooth. Drizzle this over the chocolate chips. Sprinkle chopped walnuts evenly on top.
Bake Again: Return the pan to the oven and bake for another 20-22 minutes, or until the top is bubbly.
Cool & Cut: Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan. Once cool, cut into bars.
