Slice up this giant Danish for a special treat that’s sure to impress with its sweet, layered flavors and eye-catching presentation!
Ingredients:
2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent rolls
16 oz cream cheese, room temperature
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 can pie filling, any flavor
Powdered sugar, optional for dusting
Directions:
Prepare Pan and Dough: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Coat a jelly roll pan with nonstick cooking spray. Unroll dough from one tube and pat it out on the pan, pressing perforations together to cover the bottom. Bake for 4 minutes.
Mix Filling: While the dough is baking, mix together the cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth.
Assemble First Layer: Remove the dough from the oven and let it cool slightly. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough, reaching the edges.
Add Pie Filling: Scatter your chosen pie filling over the cheese mixture. The pie filling should be evenly distributed but not completely covering the cheese layer.
Top with Dough: Unroll the remaining dough and separate the triangles. Arrange these triangles evenly over the pie filling, leaving some gaps.
Bake: Return to the oven and bake for 30 minutes, or until the top crust is golden and the filling is set.
Cool and Serve: Let the Danish cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Cut into squares and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
