Serve these homemade croffles as a delightful brunch treat or a decadent dessert. They’re sure to impress with their unique texture and delicious taste.
Ingredients:
1 (18 oz) package frozen puff pastry, thawed
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup maple syrup
Whipped cream and berries for garnish
Directions:
Prep Pastry: Lightly flour your work surface. Fold the puff pastry sheet and roll it out thinly to increase flakiness. Repeat this folding and rolling process for added layers.
Cut Pastry: Divide the rolled-out pastry into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a 6″x12″ rectangle. Use a 5-inch bowl as a guide to cut 2 circles from each rectangle.
Butter: Brush each pastry circle with melted butter to add a rich flavor and ensure a golden crisp texture when cooked.
Cook: Place the buttered pastry circles in a preheated waffle iron. Cook until each croffle is crisp and beautifully browned.
Serve: Drizzle the warm croffles with maple syrup, and garnish with a dollop of whipped cream and fresh berries.
